About Mount Allison University

Mount Allison University, commonly known as MTA, is a prestigious public Canadian college located in the picturesque town of Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada. With its roots dating back to 1843, MTA was granted university status in 1849 and has since established itself as one of the leading institutes of higher education in the country, specializing in liberal arts education at the undergraduate level.

The campus boasts a lively student-run weekly publication known as The Argosy, one of the country’s oldest independent student newspapers. Students also enjoy a campus and community radio station, CHMA 106.9 FM.

With an emphasis on holistic development, Mount Allison University encourages athletic participation, offering more than 30 clubs and intramural sports teams. The university’s athletic teams, known as the Mounties, participate in various sports such as hockey, swimming, badminton, soccer, basketball, and volleyball.
