Who Can Take The TOEFL?

Test of English As A Foreign Language – Eligibility

1. Qualification :A candidate who has completed their 10+2 education from a recognized institution is an acceptable qualification for the TOEFL test.

2. Age : Anyone can take the TOEFL exam, and there are no age restrictions.

4. Number of Attempts: The TOEFL test is offered at authorised test centres worldwide over 50 times a year. You can retake the test as many times as you like, but there must be a 12-day gap between two attempts.

Document Requirements

1. Submit an original document; photocopies are not accepted, and electronic IDs on devices are not valid.
2. Provide a physical government-issued ID with a recognizable photograph and signature.
3. Ensure the ID is current and valid; expired documents won’t be accepted.
4. The full name and date of birth on the ID must match your registration details precisely, excluding accents or diacritical marks.

This test assesses reading, listening, and writing skills, as well as knowledge of English grammar and conventions. It consists of four sections: listening comprehension, structure and written expression, reading comprehension, and the Test of Written English.

How To Register For TOEFL?

Step Wise Procedure

1. Visit the official website and go to ‘sign up’ to create an account by filling in your details.
2. Create a TOEFL test-taker profile
3. Submit your TOEFL application form
4. Select your TOEFL test date for 2023 and TOEFL test centre or opt for TOEFL at Home
5. Pay the TOEFL registration fee of 16,900 INR
6. Confirm and submit your TOEFL application form
7. Take a printout or save your TOEFL confirmation page for future use.

Offline

1. Via Mail: Candidates should download and print the TOEFL registration form, filling it out with their name as it appears on their valid Indian passport. Send the form with the TOEFL fee to the address on the form. Make sure the forms reach at least four weeks before your test date.

2. Via Phone: Candidates choosing to register for TOEFL by phone should review the registration form in advance and ensure their name matches their passport. Then, pay with a credit/debit card, also for regular registration closes seven days before the test date, and a late fee may apply after that.

Slot Booking

1. Visit the official website  and be required to create a Test taker profile.
2. Test takers would be required to select their TOEFL test date and test centre
3. Go ahead with the payment of ₹16,900 INR towards the TOEFL registration fee
4. Successfully book your TOEFL slot for the exam.

2. Work on Your Comprehension Speed: During your TOEFL preparation, aim to read for at least 20 minutes daily. Use articles, books, and stories to enhance your reading skills.

3. Fill Your Free Time with Passive Reading:Consider reading fun magazines, comics, Facebook posts, or blogs for passive reading practice. Passive reading involves reading English material without a specific learning goal.

4. Learn Specific Vocabulary: During practice, read each text entirely without looking up words. Afterward, you can check the meanings of words you didn’t understand.
