About University Of Suffolk
The University of Suffolk, established in 2007 as University Campus Suffolk (UCS), emerged from a partnership between the University of East Anglia and the University of Essex. After gaining independence in 2016, it was granted university status and adopted its current name. The university’s four campuses are located in Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds, Lowestoft, and Great Yarmouth. The institution operates six academic faculties and serves a diverse student body, with 8% international, 53% mature, and 66% female students. In 2019/20, it was ranked 8th among UK universities in the “Course and Lecturers” category by the WhatUni Student Choice Awards. Helen Pankhurst, great-granddaughter of Emmeline Pankhurst, serves as the university’s chancellor.
